GRACE FACTOR 1 OF 2
GRACE TALK 1 OF 2....
Rom 6:18Being then made FREE from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.
*
Romans 6:12-13King James Version (KJV)
...
12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.
13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but YIELD YOURSELVES unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
*
The first scripture talks
about what Grace has done. The second talks about what you have to do.
Grace came and dealt with Sin (nature) thus setting us free from the nature of sin and imputting into us the nature of Christ (Grace). Therefore we are free from the nature of sin forever by Grace.
Now due to this Grace, we have the advantage to triumph over the Acts/Workings of Sin by simply YIELDING OURSELVES TO RIGHTEOUSNESS.
Grace has cleaned up the nature, now you clean up the acts; its even easier now than it was then cos now that the Nature is gone, the Acts has no more sustaining/dominating power over us. "For sin shall not dominate you for ye are not under the law but under Grace".
Now its erroneous for one to just stop at the "FREEDOM" aspect and neglect the "YIELDING" aspect. It is by the "yielding" that the acts of sin disappear.
YIELD I SAY, OUR MEMBERs AS SERVANTS TO RIGHTEOUSNESS.

11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
