The Blood of Jesus Christ and You.
The Lord led me to preach on the blood of Jesus Christ during some recent services in Southern California. He moved so mightily that we broadcast that message on This Is Your Day.
The response was immediate and remarkable. People all over the world have been touched and blessed.
And our Lord Jesus has spoken for me to share this teaching with you as my partner.
I want you to be a vital part of what God is doing today—abundant life must begin with understanding the blood
covenant taught throughout the Bible!
How often have we sung this anointed song?
The blood that Jesus shed for me,
Way back on Calvary;
The blood that gives me strength
From day to day,
It will never lose its power.
It reaches to the highest mountain,
It flows to the lowest valley;
The blood that gives me strength
From day to day,
It will never lose its power.
Oh, that each believer could understand the meaning of those words and the trail of blood that runs through the Old and New Testaments—the Adamic Covenant, Noahic Covenant, Abrahamic Covenant, Mosaic Covenant, Davidic Covenant, New Covenant, and the Everlasting Covenant.
More importantly, God continues to give us the power to live triumphantly today!
The Shed Blood
Even back in Genesis, blood was shed to cover Adam and Eve after they sinned. And every man of God who built an altar and applied the blood—Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, and the rest—all understood the power and covenant of the blood.
Leviticus 14 talks about a leper coming before the priest who made a sacrifice, dipped a scarlet piece of cloth and hyssop, a plant grown throughout the region, then would spray the leper seven times. After the leper was cleansed, the priest sprayed him seven times with oil.

The Bible also tells us that the blood was sprayed seven times in the Holy of Holies on the Day of Atonement (Leviticus 16:15
).
).
The Old Testament reveals so much that was answered by Christ at Calvary, including the way His blood was sprayed seven times:
1. His body, in the Garden of Gethsemane—“And being in agony, He prayed more earnestly. Then His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground” (Luke22:44
).
).
2. His beard and face—“I gave…My cheeks to those who plucked out the beard” (Isaiah 50:6
).
).
3. His head, from the crown of thorns—“When they had twisted a crown of thorns, they put it on His head” (Matthew 27:29
).
).
4. His beaten back—“When he [Pilate] scourged Jesus, he delivered Him to be crucified” (Matthew 27:26
). He was whipped 39 times with one of the most tortuous weapons that tore flesh away and exposed bones.

5. His hands, nailed to the cross—“They pierced my hands” (Psalm 22:16
).
).
6. His feet, as the nails were driven in—“They pierced…My feet” (Psalm 22:16
).
).
7. His pierced side—“But one of the soldiers pierced His side with a speak, and immediately blood and water came out” (John 19:34
).
).Jesus “gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people” (Titus 2:14).
In Acts 20:28
, we are told that we were purchased with the blood of the Lamb! The Bible says the saints in heaven talk about it and sing about that costly sacrifice on the cross of Calvary.

The Bible says the saints in heaven talk about it and sing about that costly sacrifice on the cross of Calvary.Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? —Hebrews 9:11-14
Jesus Christ shed His blood to cover the sins of the whole world, but only those who accept the blood will be forgiven. Only when we accept the blood sacrifice will we be accepted. And only by applying the blood of Jesus can we be covered with His protection!
Applying the Blood—Then and Now
Thankfully, more and more believers throughout the world are discovering the power of applying the Blood of Jesus.

In the Old Testament, hyssop was often involved in the application of the blood during sacrifices. Hyssop is a plant that is still grown throughout the Middle East today and is symbolic of faith and purity in the Word of God.
David prayed to God:
“Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow” (Psalm 51:7).
Remember during the Passover, the children of Israel were commanded to take a branch of hyssop and, by faith, apply the blood on the lintel and two side posts of their houses.
Job 1:9-10
tells us the five specific areas that the blood covers:- You
- Your house and family
- Your possessions and property
- Your endeavors
- Your influence
Job did exactly what God instructed under the Old Covenant. He applied the blood, and he did it regularly (Job 1:5
).
).
So must we do under the New Covenant, for the sacrifice has been made once and for all through Jesus Christ.
However, there is a major, life-changing difference—in the Old Covenant, the blood was applied with the hyssop plant. In the New Covenant, we apply the blood by speaking it and through prayer.
The apostle Paul said, “We also believe and therefore speak” (2 Corinthians 4:13
). Our words, especially as we pray, are the applying force, and a faith-filled believer’s voice is a powerful weapon of war.

You may say, “Pastor Benny, what do you mean by ‘applying the blood of Jesus’?”
It means we appropriate all of the benefits of the cross of Jesus Christ:
- Protection
- Access
- Forgiveness
- Security in God’s grace
- Redemption
- Reconciliation
- Cleansing
- Sanctification
- Dwelling in God’s presence
- Victory
When the blood is applied, the anointing follows upon you, your house and family, your possessions and property, your endeavors, and your influence!
Being victorious as believers is found only under the blood, through faith, for only under that precious blood of Christ Jesus are we free and safe from the enemy.
Because of the precious blood of Jesus, we are covered. As you look to God to increase your faith today, He will impart mighty revelation of the power in His blood to your spirit. You can trust Him with all your cares and your whole life today.
Apply the blood through your voice—your prayers and your faith-filled confession!
A Personal Testimony
I can’t begin to tell you how many times Suzanne and I walked around the home where we lived in Orlando, then later in California. We would pray over our children, applying the blood of Jesus Christ.
Our children faced challenges as they grew up, of course, but I’m here to tell you that each one of them is born-again today and serving God. It’s not because of me, but I know it is because we applied the blood of Jesus over them.
We continue that today, not only praying over each other and our children, but also over our grandchildren, too.
We know, more than ever, that believers are given God’s promise of protection and favor:
Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. —Hebrews 13:20-21

God desires the best for you. No matter what is happening in your life today, He wants to build a powerful legacy.
Apply the blood! Pray! Confess the Word!
It reaches to the highest mountain,
And it flows to the lowest valley;
The blood that gives me strength
From day to day,
It will never lose its power.
Take comfort knowing that:
“God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind” (2 Timothy 1:7).
Because you are a covenant believer, God has promised to care for you, even when you face challenges, as you trust in Him.
A Crucial Word for You
God desires to bless you and your loved ones beyond your wildest imagination. He wants to protect you. He wants to grant your requests. He declares again and again in His Word that He wants to prosper you, to overtake you with blessings.
Why?
The Word says that:
“God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).
That is His priority—the salvation of souls!
That is why our Lord Jesus, just before ascending to heaven to sit at the Father’s right hand, said to us, “As my Father hath sent me, even so send I you” (John 20:21
), and He commanded us to “go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15
).
), and He commanded us to “go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15
).
Our God is:
“Not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance” (2 Peter 3:9).
God Himself sent His Son Jesus to die on that cruel cross. And the God who raised Jesus from the dead has called you and me to preach the most glorious Gospel and tell lost humanity that Jesus Christ, who is “the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever” (Hebrews 13:8
), is the answer to the world’s darkness, bondage, and sin!
), is the answer to the world’s darkness, bondage, and sin!
Think about it—God has given us the privilege of telling the whole world about salvation through Jesus Christ! The angels themselves do not have this privilege. Yet God, in His amazing love, has saved us and called us to preach the greatest message ever given—Jesus shed His blood and gave His life to save us.
That is why the apostle Paul wrote, “We preach Christ crucified” (1 Corinthians 1:23
), and:
), and:“Many will give glory to God for your loyalty to the gospel of Christ, which you profess, and for your generosity in sharing with them and everyone else” (2 Corinthians 9:13GNT).
The Word of God tells us that not only are we called but chosen, predestined, accepted, and sealed with the Holy Spirit to fulfill God’s plan for the ages. In fact, Paul tells us that we have been called and anointed so God might use us to tell the nations that Jesus saves!
God bless you
